GOVERNING AT THE BORDER: NORMS, RULES, CROSS-BORDER AND TRANSNATIONAL PRACTICES; FROM THE CITIZEN TO THE INSTITUTION
BIG Lab and the Transfrontier Euro-Institut Network (TEIN) will convene researchers and practitioners in Mons, Belgium on 6–7 October 2026 for a two-day international conference on border governance and cross-border management.
The conference, "Governing at the Border: Norms, Rules, Cross-Border and Transnational Practices; From the Citizen to the Institution," brings together scholars from across Europe and beyond to examine how borders are governed, contested, and experienced at multiple scales — from everyday crossings to institutional frameworks.
CFP: Border Heritage Sessions
Japan's Borders in Globalization, the International Research Center for Japanese Studies (Nichibunken), and Kyoto University are seeking applications for research sessions on Japan's border heritage. Travel grants available for graduate students, early career researchers, and policy professionals to present groundbreaking work on borders and mobility in Japan at this November 2026 conference in Kyoto. Application deadline: June 5, 2026.
